Reopening with Fire and Fragility: T E L O S by Sarko Meené

On April 14, 2021, after months of stillness, we reopened the doors of Latitude Art Space — not with fanfare, but with fire.

T E L O S, a solo exhibition by Sarko Meené, marked our return. At its heart stood Identity — a breathtaking installation of six large-scale pieces, drawn not with ink or pigment, but with flame. Sarko Meené used fire to etch form onto heavy metal mesh, transforming hard material into something impossibly delicate. These sculptures, suspended in air, felt as though they might lift away — like silk, like breath.

But Identity was never complete on its own. It asked something of each visitor. By stepping into the installation, every viewer became its seventh, living element — called to reflect, to embody, to confront their own telos, their own essence.

The show ran through April 27, curated by Armen Yesayants, with an original sound composition by Hayk Karoyi, surrounding the space in sonic meditation. It was more than an exhibition — it was a shared awakening.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on that night of light and renewal. In a time when so much felt uncertain, T E L O S reminded us: identity is both fire and mirror, presence and potential.
